Information Sharing
Parent to parent exchange of ideas is the way most of us get our best information. The GIFTSNC Conference Parent Mixer is an opportunity to get to know other parents attending the conference who may be living with similar challenges that you face. This will be an evening to relax, exchange information, gather new ideas and get to know other parents who are also home schooling a child or children with special needs. We all have those moments of joy when we find something that works, so let's pass on those great ideas.
This year’s Parent Mixer focus will be on Information Sharing. You can choose to make your display using any of these categories: technology, curriculum, adaptations, inclusion, community resources, services, other resources such as on-line pages, books, or your own `tips.” Feel free to include a bragging section and use your creativity in layout and style. Please, use a tri- fold board which will be able to stand alone as we can not hang posters on the wall. Be sure to put your name and where you live (city and/or state) on the front of the display so other people can find you easily.
Similar displays will be clustered together in the room to make it `user friendly' in finding the information that most pertains to parents and to encourage parents to mix and get to know other parents facing similar issues. I would really like a wide variety of displays, so if you would like to do a display please email me and let me know that you will be bringing one and what your display will be about. If you have any questions, let me know. emailmehere@nc.rr.com
Thank you for doing a display board; it's such a great way to help each other out. Have fun!
There will also be door prizes handed out during the Parent Mixer, so be sure you plan on attending!
Thank,
